Team 503: Almost every country or culture has contributed to the world. The Native Americans gave the world chocolate and many medicines. India gave us the concept of zero. The Arabs made major science contributions. Let's just listen to the music.

The first computer was developed by the german Konrad Zuse. This machine (Z3) can be seen in the "Deutsches Museum" in Munic. Electricity was already known by the "old greek" (engl.) Amber = (greek) Elektron. 1744 von Kleist (german) and 1745 Musschenbroek (dutch) developed the first "battery", the "Leidener Flasche". WW2 was won by all the brave women an men and all the countries who fighted against the NAZI-Regime, not by a single country.

reclaiming France were vital roles in the Allied victory. Additionally, without the fiscal and military support of the United States, the Allies would've lost the war years before. Oh, and there's that little atomic weapon detonation in '45 that sealed the deal.Electricy was, like the computer, all over the place - Britain, ancient Greece, etc - but notable and pracitcal uses were pioneered in the US. The light bulb, for example, came from Edison.

While it may be true that Charles Babbage invented the first difference machine, it is noteworthy that he never built a working one. And while the vagaries of computing come from all over, the modern PC - in any variety - came from the US. VIC, Altair, Apple, IBM, Compaq (the first clone), even Dell.To argue that the Russians defeated alone Hitler would be inaccurate. Russian WEATHER defeated the Nazi army that was attacking Russia. The US pushing on the Western front, as well as (cont)

The computer was British invention. And I think electricity was first discovered in France. Oh, and it was the Russians who actually defeated Hitler in WW2, America was just the decoy.Still, you're obviously not going to let the facts get in the way of your little rant, are you? |
