many conductors do conduct everything slightly ahead of the beat. It is seen very frequently so the sound is not nessesarily delayed. It actaully makes more sense if you think about it because by conducting ahead of the beat people can see ahead of time what they are sopposed to play as opposed to spurt of the moment reacting which can never be perfect.

i was in the same boat as you but if you look at the violinist in the backround he is in sync and Karajan is just a crazy conductor doing his own thing i guess lol

Actually it isn't delayed... that's how karajan was conducting...

lol the music's a little out of sync with the video. It's funny to see him conduct things and then hear it delayed

All of these Beethoven Symphony videos are incredible. If anyone has videos of Karajan conducting other composers like Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, etc., It would be well appreciated!
